More than 800 people remain displaced by wildfires in northwestern Ontario

About 2,000 evacuees from across northwestern Ontario have returned home since a surge of wildfire activity in mid-July. Still, about 829 people remain displaced as of Friday, according to officials at Ontario’s Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response. A new national survey has found that 63 per cent of Canadians describe health care in their province as being in a state of crisis, while 55 per cent believe the system has gotten worse over the past five years.
