Two legal organizations argue Ontario's new rules requiring a cash deposit for bail encroach on federal jurisdiction and will make it harder for people to be released.

The meeting being arranged by the Quebec premier and CAQ leader for Monday night comes as Canada prepares to impose retaliatory tariffs on a wide range of U.S. goods the following day. The tariffs will range from 15 to 50 per cent and apply to products including dairy, steel, copper and some beauty products.
