Re: Ottawa casino moral implications debated

October 1, 2012

I made this comment after Ken Gray shared a discussion on my Facebook page with friends who agree with my interpretation of the moral implications of a downtown casino in Canada's capital.

The way the Mayor has positioned the debate with only one day of feedback and debate, it is unlikely FEDCO will say no to a casino in Ottawa. However, I believe the majority of residents don’t want a casino downtown. I know a number of people from all political allegiances who agree with me about the moral implications of a casino.

Its a real shame we can’t have an honest and open discussion on such an important issue to Ottawa residents. Everything these days seems to be rammed through Council without proper debate in order to minimize public opposition.
