Mysterious floating island reappears on B.C. lake

BC Hydro spokesperson Bob Gammer says he initially thought reports of a floating island covered in trees on Williston Lake in northern British Columbia were a hoax, before satellite images confirmed its existence. It then vanished, but has now reappeared, 30 kilometres from where it was previously seen.

All shows and events at Meridian Theatres have been cancelled for the rest of 2026 due to the Canada Day flooding.
