A little girl who fell from a Disney Cruise Line vessel into the Atlantic Ocean, and her father, who jumped in after her, were both rescued by fast-acting crew members on Sunday afternoon. The Finance and Corporate Services Committee today approved acquiring land for a new civic complex and LRT Station in Barrhaven. The 1.7-hectare parcel of vacant land is located northwest of the future Chapman Mills Drive and Riocan Avenue. It would be purchased from the South Nepean Development Corporation for just over $10 million, in line with both an internal City appraisal and a third-party independent appraisal of the property.
