Ottawa Now - New poll says strong majority of Canadians are calling for a U-16 social media ban

March 30, 2026

Almost 4 months ago, Australia banned social media for youth under 16 years of age. It was a landmark ban that sparked an important global discussion about the impact of these platforms, and how they can harm the mental health and safety of young people. Kristy Cameron chats with Shachi Kurl, the President of the Angus Reid Institute, on today’s Ottawa Now.
