Toronto police say officer who was shot has died

Toronto police have confirmed that Const. Marc Pinizzotto, 43, was shot while conducting a search warrant Thursday in the area of Black Creek and Trethewey drives. Chief Myron Demkiw says Pinizzotto, who was with the police force for 18 years, was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital where he died.
As cleanup work continued on Friday, July 3, after the Canada Day storms, the City of Ottawa said about 2,000 basements in the national capital had experienced flooding. Read More
