Frank Graves and Warren Kinsella discuss 2019 Liberal Throne Speech on the Unpublished.Cafe

The federal Liberals unwrapped their Throne Speech with many promises for Canadians. The only problem is the vision is about as clear as your view in a blinding snow storm.

Governor General Julie Payette read the road map the Grits are laying out for their next mandate. This one will be a little trickier to navigate with just a minority behind the wheel, depending on the support of the Bloc or NDP to make things happen. Within the foresight for Canadians, more strides toward climate change, a more affordable middle class, an aim to reduce homelessness and a closer relationship with Canada’s indigenous peoples.

All laudable goals, but the point of a map is to tell you how to get somewhere, and this seems to be quite vague. The vote on the Throne Speech will come in the New Year.
