When COVID-19 made it’s way to North America, the truth seemed to be opaque. Initially, Canada's Public Health Agency it didn’t want the public to start hoarding masks and making it more difficult to protect those on the front line - so it told the public that masks were not necessary. Would Canada have less infections if we were wearing a mask last March?
A few weeks ago, the story of Dr.Brooks Fallis goes viral. He was a “shining light” at the William Osler Health Centre in Peel. Great performance reviews, excellent with patients and colleagues. He was relieved of his interim medical director position because the Province started leaning on administration in response to his social media criticisms. The Centre denies it as does the Province. But this has been going on since the pandemic began. Warnings and threats about social media posts that point out shortcomings in response to COVID-19.
