Canadian dies in Iran at hands of authorities, Anand says

A Canadian has died at the hands of the authorities in Iran, Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand confirmed Thursday.
As public protests against the theocratic regime continued, Ms. Anand said on X that she had just learned about the death.
Southern Ontario remains locked in a deep freeze, with wind chills as low as - 35 C and Toronto logging its longest stretch of below-freezing temperatures in 11 years.
