Just moments ago, Interim OC Transpo GM Troy Charter addressed the latest issues surrounding Ottawa’s LRT service. They identified an issue with the cartridge bearing assemblies on Line 1 vehicles, meaning all trains with a mileage over 100,000 kilometres are being removed from service to have their CBAs replaced. Until those repairs have been made, Line 1 will operate with single-car and double-car trains. CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent tries to make sense of it all.
