Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Tues. June 16th, 2026

June 16, 2026

When the new NHL season begins in October, Hockey Night In Canada will live on. However, the Saturday night program has officially played its final shift on Channel 8. In a joint statement between Rogers Sportsnet and the CBC, Canada’s public broadcaster will no longer carry NHL games on Saturday nights, ending a tradition that has stood for 75 years. Back in 2013, a sub-licensing agreement between the two sides extended the Canadian programming staple by another 12 years, but that was not renewed ahead of a brand-new broadcasting agreement between Rogers and the league. Kristy Cameron examines the bigger picture with Bill Brioux, a TV critic and podcaster, in Hour 2. Meantime, there are countless benefits that come with a routine, but many people don’t have them. Having a good routine can anchor your life, give you a sense of stability, and free you from distractions. How can you build one properly? We check in with Benslyne Avril, a psychotherapist who practices in Westboro.
