Swiss man who assaulted protester in Ottawa gets absolute discharge

A Swiss man who pleaded guilty to punching a protester in the face outside an Ottawa defence conference in 2024 was given an absolute discharge Wednesday before exiting the courtroom to angry shouts from supporters of the victim.
Roughly 186,000 measles cases have been reported worldwide as of July. That's a 12 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.
