Dozens of children bused from YMCA camp after Hamilton conservation area fire damages structures

Police are investigating an early-morning fire at Hamilton's Christie Lake Conservation Area that forced the YMCA to close its Camp Chippewa program for the week and remove children from the property by bus on Wednesday after the fire damaged facilities in the area.
We are starting to gather a bigger picture of the LRT West Extension, and the damage that was done during the Canada Day downpour. OC Transpo says it could delay a full opening until 2027. Richard Holder, who overlooks the City of Ottawa’s Rail Construction Program, says the damage was so severe between Moodie and New Orchard that OC Transpo isn’t ruling out the possibility of having to rip up some of the tracks.
