It's the "How" not the "what"

New East End Bridge

Lack of change

Everybody knows the "WHAT" practically nobody knows the "HOW"

There is a warm and fuzzy feeling that comes from platitudes and truisms. You get that sensation in your belly that no matter what, YOU are going to be OK, cause you are going to heaven.

That is the same thing with politicians saying what they want: affordable housing, green environment, great food and transport systems.... the problem?

They have absolutely no concept as to how to achieve these things.

When asked, Suttclife said he would solve OCTranspo problems by having the "right" people around the table. Four years later, transit is worse than it was and his proposed savior, Amilcar? long gone.

The solution to transport in Ottawa is radical.

It involves robots, automation, artificial intelligence and a radical rethink about how we move around. It involves a new way to cross the Ottawa River: a new east end crossing.

I may be the only one who thinks that the "what" is not really all that important compared to "HOW" the changes can be implemented. At least as a project manager at heart I can actually see a path forward and as a potential politician I can see that success will come from persuasion not declaring a NIMBY position and sitting at the table with my arms crossed.

Yes, I agree. Most people agree on the "What".  But "How" it is achieved is a different matter altogether...
