Here we go again, the Ottawa Citizen editor advocating on behalf of developers—many of whom the Charbonneau Commission labelled “organized crime”. The paper’s interference in the 2010 Ottawa municipal election was bad enough. The Ottawa Citizen needs to stay out of politics and do its job. Report on the news.
Here’s an idea for City Councillors > How about don’t use infill to continue to destroy the urban forest and family communities to achieve a solution to which there are many alternatives.
Removing zoning protection on family communities is just lazy planning. We have an opportunity to clean contaminated land and build new communities for people in need. Convert a couple business parks into appartments, etc.
Forcing transients (renters) into existing communities will only create great animosity towards them. It’s a mistake to force them into mature family communities. It tears at the fabric of the community and destroys it over time.
Lazy planning. Terrible long term results for our best and safest communities. Stick to intensifying transit corridors and cleaning contaminated land. And please—Stay out of our neighbourhoods.
How can any elected politician in Canada not understand that any overt support for Palestine is also support for Hamas, since Hamas runs Gaza, or did before the war? Hamas is a terrorist organization in Canada. Showing support for Hamas is a crime in Canada. Anyone wearing this scarf should be banned from the building and reported to the RCMP. We are at war people. Hamas works for Putin. Wake up!
True enough Paul. As soon as a majority of Canadians are in a net-gain position, the carbon tax won't be needed. Its about changing behaviour and doing what we can to preserve life on planet earth.
