Is the NDP squandering its chance by supporting the Liberals in Parliament?

Posted on October 6, 2023

Is it time for the Liberal—NDP coalition to pull the plug?

The Liberals don’t mind as they’re still in power, but the NDP, which is propping them up, hasn’t seen much in gains when it comes to the deal? They didn’t ask to form a coalition government with the Liberals, but they seem to be wearing every mistake the government makes.  Is time running out for the New Democrats?

I voted: NoSince the NDP never really had a chance in the first place, I think the question should have been worded: "squandered their chance with swing-votes".
I believe that is where they have hurt themselves the most.

We left it open ended so people could fill in the blank on their own. Chance at governing, or gaining seats, or holding the Liberals to account, or passing more social legislation, or replacing the Liberals as the progressive voice of Canadians, etc.

I voted: YesI dont think it will matter what the Liberal or NDP platform is, people are tired of being taxed to death. Given their platforms are similar, i believe people will overwhelmingly support the CPC.

I voted: UnsureI haven’t heard anything about eliminating poverty from the NDP since Singh has become leader. You would think that a Guaranteed Annual Income would have been the first thing they pushed the Liberals for. Instead they chose universal dental care. Also an important program but it doesn’t address poverty, which one would think would be the NDP’s #1 priority.
