Posted on May 4, 2024
Change, change, change. We all want change. Talk to any pollster in Canada and that is the pervading theme across the country. It’s strange because human nature doesn’t like change. Yet, Canadians are clamouring for it. But what kind of change do Canadians want?
Our Unpublished Vote question this week asks:
What kind of change do you want to see most?
A. Change in Liberal Party leadership
B. Change of government
C. Cabinet Shuffle
D. Electoral Reform
E. Other
F. No change

I voted: Electoral ReformTrudeau promised electoral reform once, but reneged on his promise. Why did he think First-Past-the-Post elections needed to be changed in the first place? Whatever that reason was, it is still the way we count who wins, and it still does not correctly reflect the will of most Canadians, nor within the provinces. It really is time to throw out this false democratic and simplistic way of electing politicians, as so many other countries have successfully done.
I voted: Change of governmentI want to see responsible government .
To drop the carbon tax and all tax in Canada to be reduced .
To Equalizer the voting seats across Canada so to make all equal in power of decision .
To fix the justice system .
To greatly reduce the amount of people entering Canada and those whom do are educated .
This is a start
I voted: Electoral ReformOnly Electoral Reform will fix the problems Canada has with governance because until the majority of votes cast actually count toward electing someone, the majority of Canadians who do not support the government will continue to feel disenfranchised and angry as a result. It's time for some form of Proportional Representation. I prefer MMP because its very similar to our current electoral system.
