Chinese Interference in Canada’s Elections: How deep does it go?

It’s cloak and dagger stuff, the latest dispute between Canada and China. A CSIS report suggests that China was complicit in trying to influence the outcome of the last two federal elections using money and intimidation.
The report points out, despite the attempt, the outcome of the elections would have been the same. The head scratcher is why the federal government is not holding a public inquiry into what happened.

I voted: YesOur voting system needs to rely on paper votes only. Most Canadians know that Trudeau was not the winner of our past election. He is a deep state paid stooge. An actor acting as PM while they control him. It’s time that our government get back to what they are suppose to do for Canadians. China and all other meddling countries need to get out of controlling our country

Most Canadians, whether they like it or not, do know that the Liberals won the last election. Even the Conservatives. The results were very similar to the previous election results in 2019. Both were strong minority governments. The Liberals didn't win the popular vote but that's not necessary in our very flawed First Past the Post electoral system. Canadians do cast votes by paper ballot. Not sure where you're getting that from. The election interference was on an individual riding basis. We have not seen proof that it effected the outcome as you claim. Deep state arguments in Canada are pretty funny. This isn't the US and we don't have a deep state like they do for many reasons which I won't bother to get into. Suffice to say, conspiracy theories just weaken your argument. There are so many issues to criticize Trudeau on. Why not stick to the many that can be proven rather than those that can't?

I voted: YesIf there is an indication that a foreign nation is interfering with our elections, I can't see any legitimate reason why there would NOT be a public inquiry into the matter. We saw Russia trying to interfere with U.S. elections; now we're told China is interfering with ours. The public needs to know whether these concerns have any factual basis and also what the government is (presumably) doing to block such efforts in the future.
